Susan Parton Stanard
Music Director

Susan Parton Stanard, mezzo soprano, has appeared in concert throughout the United States, Germany, Austria and Scandinavia.  Her most recent tour took her to Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Vienna.

She combines 26 years' experience as an operatic and concert artist with more than 16 years' experience in college level music education.  She has served as vocal coach to Miss America finalists as well as such operatic greats as Mario Sereni and Ezio Flagello.  As an educator at the secondary school level she was the Co-Director of Vocal and Choral Education at Douglas Anderson School of the Arts, which is a Blue Ribbon public high school for the performing arts in Jacksonville Florida.

Raised and educated in Alton, she returned to the area in 2002 to direct Choral Ensembles and Vocal Studies at Lewis and Clark Community College.  Susan recently earned the distinction of Nationally Certified Teacher of Music by the Music Educators National Association.  She has taken a group of singers to New York to perform with John Rutter in Carnegie Hall. By far, Susan's favorite and finest "accomplishment" is as mom to Ray Stanard.

Susan has served in music ministry for more than 30 years as choir director, pianist, organist and worship leader.
